Seeing Red . . . . Italian furniture maker Tacchini's newest pieces from the Milan shows have an appealingly tech-y, youthful vibe. Designer Claesson Koivisto Rune created the Kelly lounge chair in the most stunning shade of lipstick red I've ever seen. It's part of an extremely hip collection that's coming soon to Smink in Dallas, so keep your eyes peeled.
Moroso's Burnt Doodle table, at Scott & Cooner
Side swiped . . . remember the wood burning kits we had as kids? Moroso's done a grownup version of burnt wood art with its new Burnt Doodle plywood side table. The doodles dictate the shape of the table, which makes it even more of a conversation piece. New at Scott & Cooner in Dallas and Austin.
J Robert Scott Deanna settee, at Allen Knight
Great Scott! Allen Knight in Dallas has just picked up J Robert Scott—and not a moment too soon—because it's one of best best collections yet. J Robert Scott is known for its luxurious materials including rare and exotic wood veneers, and shagreen, snake, goatskin parchment, hand-woven silks and mohairs. Mirror-like finishes are uncompromisingly perfect, and from what I've heard about its founder, Sally Sirkin Lewis, each piece must be perfect or it won't leave the factory. That's something most of us won't mind paying extra for.
