| The new Baxter showroom in Dallas |
What's New! Baxter is not a very Italian name, but there's no mistaking the look. Just opened in Dallas in November, Baxter is fun and edgy and beautifully crafted, in only the way Italian-made furniture can be. They're completely new to Dallas and a not-to-miss stop on your regular trips to the Design District (They're next door to Roche Bobois, the French showroom that moved last month from its longtime Alpha Road location). I have to admit, it took me several tries before I found the showroom, and then was embarrassed when I finally spotted it, as was hiding in plain sight, smack on the corner of Stemmons Freeway and Oak Lawn Avenue, inside a large building that was once vacant for years. 1707 Oak Lawn Ave., Dallas, TX 7507; 972.239.4431
I'm also working on a story for the next edition of Modern Luxury Interiors Texas on Baxter (in Houston, they're sold through an amazing new showroom called Internum), so I'll write more in detail then. Meanwhile, I took some snapshots of Baxter and the new Roche Bobois showroom next door. Although they open into each other, Roche Bobois is French and is owned by a different company.
